ABOUT ME
Grant is currently a senior at the University of Memphis, majoring in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast-News.
Grant played on the golf team at the University of Memphis. The Tigers won a Conference USA Championship in April of 2012, the first title since the move to C-USA. The team also advanced to the NCAA Finals in June 2012, played at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. This was the school's second appearance in the history of the program. Grant has been playing golf since he was 3 years old.
His sports journalism career began in high school, where he did play-by-play work for the school's radio station the "W.O.W. Network." He called basketball games in the winter of his senior year.
Grant continued his radio work beginning in 2010, working for the campus radio station "WUMR, 91.7FM The Jazz Lover." He started working for the sports team, doing a radio show one day a week along with other members of the sports team. He was promoted to Sports Director after two years of work on the sports team. Grant managed the U92 Sports Team, hosted a 30 minute radio show 3 days per week, and did play-by-play broadcasting for Memphis Tiger football and basketball games.
Summer 2012 was spent interning at Sports 56 WHBQ. He worked on the shows "The Sports Bar" and "Fish 'N Stats". The internship helped mold his on-air radio personality, increased his knowledge of radio production, and enhanced his overall ability as a sports radio broadcaster.
He also began interning in the fall of 2012 with WREG News Channel 3, the CBS affiliate in the Memphis area. Grant worked in the sports department under Glenn Carver, the sports director at the station. He covered Tiger football, Tiger basketball, and the Memphis Grizzlies.
Adding to his television repertoire, Grant interned at WBIR-TV in Knoxville, Tenn. in the summer of 2013, working mostly in the sports department under Sports Director Steve Phillips. He covered high school football and more for WBIR, and assisted with the broadcasts by editing and writing material for the show.
Grant is now writing for MemphisRoar, an affiliate of 247Sports/CBSSports. He covers Memphis football, basketball and recruiting for the site. He also hosts a weekly podcast.
